Frequently

Asked Questions

  • You don’t have to be in a crisis to benefit from therapy. Many people come to Easy Peasy Counseling because they feel stuck, overwhelmed, anxious, or unsure how to move forward in life. If you’re navigating stress, life transitions, relationship struggles, identity issues, or patterns that keep showing up in your life, therapy can give you a space to slow down, make sense of what you’re feeling, and build healthier ways to cope.

  •  The first session at Easy Peasy Counseling is really just a conversation. There’s no pressure and it’s definitely not an interrogation. We’ll talk about what brought you in, what’s been going on in your life lately, and what you’re hoping might feel different.

You don’t have to share everything all at once. I’ll ask some questions along the way to better understand your experiences and what support might look like for you. The goal of the first session is simply to get to know each other and make sure you feel comfortable moving forward. The most important thing to know is that this is your space—one where you can show up exactly as you are.

  • Currently, all sessions are offered through HIPAA-compliant telehealth. Our secure and easy-to-use platform makes it simple to join sessions from the comfort and privacy of your own space. This allows you to access support without the stress of commuting, while still receiving the same quality care and connection as in-person therapy.

  • Most therapy sessions last about 45–53 minutes. How often we meet depends on your needs, goals, and what feels most supportive for you. Some clients benefit from meeting once a week, while others may meet more or less frequently depending on what they’re working through. Therapy isn’t one-size-fits-all, so we’ll work together to find a schedule that supports your growth and well-being. At regular intervals, we will review your treatment plan, to see where you are in relation to your goals. This will give us an idea of how long it will take to reach your goals and how long your therapy is likely to last.

  • I understand that life happens and sometimes plans change. At Easy Peasy Counseling, I try to approach scheduling with both flexibility and respect for everyone’s time. As a courtesy, the first missed appointment is typically waived on a case-by-case basis.

After that, I do ask for at least 48 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or reschedule. Sessions canceled with less than 48 hours’ notice, or missed appointments, may be charged the full session fee since that time was reserved specifically for you. This helps ensure that I can continue providing consistent care while honoring the time set aside for each client.

  • I accept Aetna insurance plans. If you plan to use insurance, I recommend verifying your coverage in advance to better understand your benefits, including any copays, deductibles, or session limits.

You can easily check your benefits through Thrizer, which provides a quick overview of your coverage and estimated out-of-pocket costs. If you have out-of-network benefits, Thrizer can also assist in managing and submitting claims on your behalf, making the reimbursement process seamless.

For those who prefer, private pay options are also available.
